The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. March of Dimes Team Youth provides elementary to college students with the necessary resources to fundraise for and promote awareness about the March of Dimes at school and in the community. Through my time at the March of Dimes, starting in 2007-2008 (eBusiness) and 2010 to present (National Youth Leadership Development), my day-to-day practices focusing in volunteer management, event coordinating, and eMarketing.
Volunteer Management

Oversee the nomination, selection and orientation process for youth volunteers, including March of Dimes National Youth Council and Collegiate Council Ambassadors.
- Lead the Collegiate Council Ambassador program by managing virtual trainings, working closely with chapter staff, and connecting with volunteers in the chapters to establish and increase presence on college campuses across the country.
- Supervise 3-6 department interns and volunteers, including implementing and developing seasonal orientations for 15 or more company-wide interns and volunteers.
Event Coordinating
- Independently designs materials and resources and provide technical support and guidance to chapters and volunteers for youth national service partners.

Organize delivery and distribution of youth program materials, including the shipment and organization of materials for March for Babies, mission initiatives, national youth meetings, and activities with national service partners.
- Represent the Foundation at national service partners meetings and conferences as assigned, providing leadership to organizations through presentations and technical assistance and support. This includes meeting independently with national service partners.
- Develop and manage national youth volunteer in-person and virtual trainings in various locations throughout the country.
eMarketing
- Lead social networking initiatives including, but not limited to:

- Youth Times (electronic monthly e-newsletter)
- Create and market various blog postings featuring on youth programs:
- Manage (via social networking, online, email and phone) national youth leadership recognition initiatives and awards programs for chapters and national service partners.
- Work closely with chapter leadership and provides direction and guidance on awards programs and recognition, also providing direction and leadership to the National Youth Council in selection.
- Develop and conduct youth outreach via mail, email, phone, and online outlets to reach graduates, youth summit and youth leadership conference attendees. Also carry out activities and events to attract and network new youth volunteers and leaders. Implement and deliver workshops to students.
